The NESS Department works across a broad set of mission outcome areas, to include Maritime C5ISRT, undersea/surface warfare, autonomous naval systems, naval decision superiority, Naval readiness, contested logistics, and digital transformation to address critical mission needs across the Navy’s R&D, intelligence, acquisition, and operational communities.Job Description:The NESS Department is seeking a highly motivated, creative, and self-directed systems engineer to serve as a lead technical advisor to Naval Space Command (NAVSPACE) located at Ft. Meade, MD. The successful candidate will provide a broad range of systems engineering expertise in areas such as counter C5ISR&T, weapon target analysis, and integration with cyber and Special Operations Forces (SOF) to enable naval maneuver, integration across the Fleet and Joint Integrated Space Teams (JIST) in support of Combatant Command (CCMD) objectives, and supporting space modeling and simulation at USSPACECOM and USCYBERCOM.The strongest candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to fulfill one or more of the following primary job responsibilities:Architecture planning : Experience with and/or a strong understanding of development of Operational Architectures for C-C5ISR&T planning and execution (Strategic Planning & Tasking, Operational Planning & Tasking, Battle Management) from Fires to Risk assessment.R&D Transition : Experience with and understanding of processes to transition and integrate R&D initiative with Navy and joint programs of record.M&S Integration : Experience with and understanding of approaches to integrate C-C5ISRT modeling efforts to address sensitivity analysis, impacts of degrees of freedom, multi-domain integrated effects, and operational gaps.Intelligence integration : Experience with incorporating intelligence products into modeling of threat systems and the impact to those NAVSPACE equities.Integration of technical assessments : Incorporate assessments of US force command and control systems via workshops, working groups, exercises and wargames.Basic Qualifications:Typically, Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of relevant experience in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Space Systems Engineering or a related field; or 8 years and an MS or a PhD and 5 years with relevant experience.Experience and detailed knowledge of one or more of the following job responsibilities:

Regular engagement and collaboration with DOD sponsors, primarily located at Ft Meade, MD and Honolulu, HI, and other locations as needed.Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and impactfully (both oral and written).Active Top Secret/SCI level security clearance with the ability to pass a polygraph within one year.This position has an on-site requirement of 5 days a week.Preferred Qualifications:MS and 8 years of related experience in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cyber Security Engineering, Autonomous Systems Engineering, or a related field; or a PhD with 5 years’ experience.Experience and detailed knowledge of two or more of the following job responsibilities:

Experience with rapid acquisition pathways or acquisition program R&D.Active DOD Top Secret/SCI security clearance with polygraph. SAP/CAP eligible.This requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s):
