The
Technical Document Analyst
is responsible for technical document preparation, modifications, and revision control for Metro Transit Rail Technical Operations.Manage and administer Northstar light rail operational and project documents including technical and engineering design data, contract and procurement documents, and management approved procedures, manuals, plans etc. Manage control of electronically shared files, ensuring information is appropriately updated and filed with standards for revision control.Develop and maintain Rail Operations and Maintenance and Rail Support Facility technical libraries by standardizing procedures for document control and indexing documents received or collected for systematic filing. Manage digitizing library holdings securely for maintainers to access remotely.Develop complex computerized graphs, illustrations, drawings and other visuals for integration into divisional technical documentation for use by operations, inspections, and training purposes. Documentation includes professional, technical and training manuals, detailed procedures, flow charts presentation materials and signage.Assists with the design of new signal, communications, track and traction power projects consistent with Metro Transit standards and industry practices to ensure safe and efficient project completions. This may include creating inventories and studies of installed equipment or operations to support project designs.Creates and designs drawing for rail systems (signals, communications, track and traction power) and vehicles (Northstar and Light Rail). These drawings will include additions, deletions, and modifications. Design drawings will be completed using Metro Transit standards and industry recommended practices to ensure revision control, reliability, and maintainability.Assists with the design of new Light Rail and Northstar projects consistent with Metro Transit standards and industry practices to ensure safe and efficient project completions. This may include creating inventories and studies of installed equipment or operations to support project designs.Other Duties as assigned.
Any of the following combinations of experience (technical document writing and management and/or CAD Drafting Design in the following areas: Electrical, Electronics, Industrial Automation, or Railway) and completed education (Engineering or related field):Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.Associate's degree or a technical school certification from an accredited school with a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.What additional skills and experience would be helpful in this job (desired qualifications):
Experience with web-based document management or project management program.Experience with construction, public infrastructure or transportation.Experience with state or federal documentation requirements.Ability to promote and support an equitable, positive, and respectful work environment that values cultural diversity among all employees.What Knowledge, Skills and Abilities you should have within the first six months on the job:

Work Environment:Work is performed in a standard office setting; however, depending on the position's projects, the incumbent may be required to work outdoors and in all weather conditions. Some positions may require travel between primary work site and other sites.
