CNC Boring Mill Programmer
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Boring Mill Programmer to join our team. This position requires extensive experience in working with Horizontal Boring Mills or Vertical Gantry Mills. The ideal candidate will be proficient in programming and operating CNC machines for low quantity parts, with an emphasis on precision and efficiency. This role involves complex set-ups and machining of very large weldments, fabrications, and castings using state-of-the-art equipment. Compensation:
$35.00 - $42.00
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Set up and qualify parts on CNC Boring Mill or Gantry Mill machines, ensuring optimal operation.
Program the machine to perform all necessary machining operations using G&M code and/or CAM software.
Operate CNC machinery to machine parts accurately according to specifications.
Inspect machined parts to ensure they meet precise specifications and fill out inspection reports.
Manage the tear down of set-ups and safe removal of parts from the machine, coordinating assistance as necessary.
Optimize programming and machining processes to enhance efficiency and quality of final products.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with company policies and safety regulations.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
Extensive experience with CNC Boring or Gantry Mills.
Proficiency in G&M code programming and CAM software, preferably Mastercam.
Strong understanding of machining and cutting calculations, including trigonometry.
Experience with setting up and machining large weldments, fabrications, and castings.
Proficiency with Fanuc 15i-M Control systems.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Technical certification or degree in machining, engineering, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced experience with 3+2 Axis machining.
Deep knowledge of 5-sided machining setups.
Experience in a leadership role within a machine shop setting.
Familiarity with quality assurance protocols and continuous improvement processes.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in team settings.
Skills:
Detailed knowledge of CNC machine programming and operation.
Advanced problem-solving skills in a machining context.
High level of mechanical aptitude and ability to handle complex setups.
Strong mathematical and analytical abilities, especially in trigonometry and geometry.
Excellent attention to detail, ensuring high quality and precision in all work.
