is actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated technician who has significant experience with U.S. Navy Submarine Cyber systems to support the Submarine Technical Support Center (STSC) at Naval Submarine Base Groton (NSB Groton) in Groton, CT.The employee’s responsibilities may include (but are not limited to) performing or supporting the following actions:Provide onboard technical assistance to inspect, evaluate, troubleshoot, test, provide corrective actions, and/or technical oversight and guidance to resolve cyber-related equipment deficiencies on 688 and 774 Class submarinesServe as authority for direct fleet technical support on submarine cyber systemsApply knowledge, theory, and methodology in the analysis and resolution of problems encountered in troubleshooting assignmentsSupport assessments, inspections, tests, and ship checks as requiredExcellent oral and written communication skills, including experience/comfort interacting with senior/executive-level active-duty military and civilian Government employeesEffective organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skillsProficient with common productivity software including Microsoft Office and Project, Outlook, Teams, and SharePointRequirements:High school diploma, GED, or equivalentAt least eight (8) years of general U.S. Navy submarine experience, including at least three (6) years of demonstrated, specialized experience with submarine LAN equipmentExcellent oral and written communication skills, including experience/comfort interacting with senior/executive-level active-duty military and civilian Government employees.Effective organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skillsProficient with common productivity software including Microsoft Office and Project, Outlook, Teams, and SharePointPrinciples of conducting fiber optic cable testing and repair using light loss meters, OTDR's, fusion splicing, etc.Principles of conducting electrical cable testing (continuity and insulation) and repair using multimeters, meggers, terminal crimping tools, etc.Must comply with the DoD IA requirements of DoD 8570.01M, which include earning and maintaining appropriate credentials from DoD IA workforce qualifications.Must have an active secret US government clearance.
