HData is looking for our next DevOps Engineer to help our product scale to the next level. In this role, you will help improve our observability platform, create business-critical automation, and collaborate with development to remove SDLC bottlenecks.ABOUT HDATA
HData delivers a technology platform that makes it easy for anyone in the U.S. energy industry to file, explore, analyze, and leverage regulatory data. With AI and automation, analysts can easily and accurately uncover the decision-making data they need in seconds instead of spending days sifting through thousands of regulatory filings. HData, a Techstars company based in Birmingham, AL, is open to working with qualified employees fully remotely, regardless of their location within the United States.RESPONSIBILITIES
Standardize and expand on our CI/CD pipeline configurations.Build out our observability systems to proactively detect incidents. Also, work with developers to improve our observability practices.Build out business-critical automation to respond to or prevent incidents.Work with the team to perform root cause analysis in post-incident reviews.Be a part of an on-call rotation to respond to SEV1 and SEV2 incidents.Help implement Infrastructure-as-Code for our cloud infrastructure.Create observability and remediation automation to ensure compliance.Help maintain key infrastructure systems such as RDBMS and ElasticSearch clusters.Contribute to our infrastructure documentation.QUALIFICATIONS
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.Must have at least 3 years of experience in a DevOps or Software Development role.Must have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or other IT-related field, or have equivalent working experience.Must have experience working with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins, GitLab Pipelines, GitHub Actions, or Argo CD.Must have experience working with 3 or more of the following types of observability tooling: logs, metrics, traces, profiling, and alerting.Experience with writing code in one or more programming languages is preferred.Experience with IaC frameworks such as Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation is preferred.Experience maintaining NoSQL data stores and indexing systems such as ElasticSearch is preferred.Experience with Kubernetes is a plus.Certifications in AWS, GCP, or Azure are a plus.BENEFITS
