Operating since 1979, Meridian Group International is a leading IT service provider and equipment leasing and finance company across 4 continents.Position SummaryThe Systems Architect is a pre and post-sales consultant and engineer responsible for scoping projects, creating statement of works and service estimates and implementing same services. Responsibilities also include aspects of supporting, maintaining and improving both the hosted cloud offerings internal to MIT’s Data Center and remote managed/professional services offerings located on premise at a client’s location. Expectations of growth, training and career development are priority. Responsible for escalated support management, professional services implementation which includes but is not limited to hardware builds and architect, backup utilities and system monitoring and management tools.Duties and ResponsibilitiesExcellent time management, organizational and critical thinking skills a must;Generate reports for analysis by management associated with project status and open tickets;Lead pre-sales opportunities, including pre-sales calls and service opportunity qualification;Coordinate projects and client relationships with emphasis on infrastructure virtualization;Communicate with clients via ticketing system to ensure open items are being addressed;Review and update onboarding documentation and project plans;Identify recommendations that may emerge from meeting discussions and/or interview notes;Technical writing in the form of project plans, design, and statements of work;Assist with project management, ensuring all activities are performed timely and accurately;Monitor and review performance, throughput, availability and exception incidents;Configure and troubleshoot certain applications depending on offering;Have data center related knowledge, familiarity with network requirements.Qualifications and RequirementsKnowledgeable of IBMi systems and infrastructure component;Excellent time management, problem solving and communication skills;Strong analytical and project management abilities;Ability/willingness to work weekends and evenings;Ability/willingness to learn new skills.Good presentation skills;Availability to travel throughout the US.Education and Experience3 or more years’ experience in a Computer Science field;Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science is preferred;Experience with IBM power systems a plus.Meridian Group International, Inc. provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
