The Data Management Support Engineer focuses on ensuring the success of our growing backup and recovery business. The individual has strong knowledge of Commvault, storage, and other backup tools our sales team will sell. The role drives services revenue and profit by charging a fee for monthly, daily, or proactive management contracts. The Data Management Support Engineer works directly with Data Center Solutions teams and supports their sales efforts. This resource will be responsible for the daily management of our customer's backup and recovery environments. Measurements of success include customer satisfaction with job success and expanding our cloud backup as a service offering.Duties and Responsibilities
Be the subject matter expert for all backup-related issues and support requests;Track trouble tickets and resolve issues promptly;Provide training, consultation, and support for level 1 and 2 cloud support personnel;Engage with the Data Management team to assist with potential and existing customers to gather information and requirements;Provide deep analysis of customers’ current backup environment on a monthly, weekly or daily basis;Work with manufacturers to ensure accurate reporting and consumption of agents and capacity of end users;Work with the cloud team to ensure accurate reporting and consumption of agents and capacity of end users;Maintain an in‐depth understanding of products, industry practices, market opportunities, and partner requirements;Develop and document guides, processes, and policies to streamline operations and assist in growing the business;Perform other duties as assigned;Assist cloud support team in developing streamlined processes and knowledge development;Get and maintain professional certifications as required.Qualifications & Requirements
