Responsibilities

Considered a recognized authority within the company. Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative. Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Develop system requirements, perform requirements management, perform requirements verification, perform compliance assessments in support of major design reviews, and perform model-based systems engineering using technical planning, system integration, verification and validation. Responsible for using MBSE and Engineering tools to identify program requirements, track performance metrics, and manage the systems engineering process.Program Description :This program provides SETA (Systems Engineering Technical Advisor) & SE&I (Systems Engineering & Integration) services to an important Intelligence Community (IC) customer with a focus on critical, assured space communications and supporting IT infrastructure. The contract support is part of the customer core team focused on all aspects of the systems engineering life cycle beginning with conops development, where we work directly with users, potentially going into harm's way, who will be dependent on these communications systems. We then capture their requirements and work closely with developers to deliver these essential capabilities. We get involved with setting up and running tests to ensure these cutting-edge capabilities will meet the stringent requirements and then we support transition to operations. Once in operations, our teams work closely with the users to make sure critical operations are successful, providing important information to support critical decisions by policy makers. The program also supports client acquisition strategy, future technology development and modernization efforts.Specific Position Description :The position is focused on the development and implementation of a digital engineering strategy for the client's organization and mission. The primary task will be to lay down and execute a plan to move the organization from their current document-based systems engineering tools and methodologies and begin the transition to model based systems engineering (MBSE) through a multi-year strategy. Duties will include:Exercise thought leadership and practical systems engineering application by leveraging extensive Systems Engineering and MBSE experiences to lead the Digital Engineering support provided to the Customer.Oversee definition and documentation of program level systems engineering policies, procedures, guidance, and best practices regarding use of modeling languages and frameworks in the execution of systems engineering.Develop an organized repeatable systems engineering approach, that enables architectural elements usage with a model and sharing between model development projects.Lead program in the development and execution of Model Based Systems Engineering.Work with enterprise systems engineering and other programs in gathering, documenting, and sharing systems engineering lessons learned throughout the program.Work across multiple organizations supporting the identification and definition of future capability needs.Frequent interaction with government, SETA, FFRDC, external stakeholders, and development contractors.Work with SMEs and other personnel to empower the following activities:Plan Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) model development in support of systems engineering objectives and program milestones.Support efforts involving Model Based Systems Engineering tools and procedures.Generate products using MBSE tools to support reviews and analysis.Prepare briefings for senior decision makers

Qualifications

Required:Must possess and be able to maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance with Poly.10 to 12 years with BS or 8 to 10 years with MS or 5 to 7 years with a PhD.Technical BS in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical degree.Exposure with Digital Engineering tools and procedures.Experience in modeling tools (Cameo) and modeling frameworks (UAF, DoDAF, MODAF) and languages (SysML, UML, MOF).Knowledge of systems engineering documentation to include concepts of operations, interface control documents, and verification and test.Ability to provide technical and programmatic direction on the development, integration, and use of model-based engineering and model-based systems engineering models.Proficient understanding of fundamental model development and its application to architecture or system design.Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and energetic environment.Demonstrated ability to lead teams requiring collaboration, open communication, and willingness to work in a pair-programming style collaborative work environment.Strong oral and written communication skills.Demonstrated leadership abilities.Desired:BS in Electricial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Computer Science.OCSMP level 3 or higher certification in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)Prior experience as a SETA with current client working systems engineering disciplines and processes
