As a Lead VGA you will lead the cross functional geometrical work to optimize diversity versus the total variant offering required to cover the customer needs and applications. This role will act as a local resource supporting the projects/programs by developing packaging concepts, evaluating the features for enhancing our products, and delivering geometrical decisions to the project. Collaborating with local/global Design, Aftermarket and Manufacturing teams to develop, validate and industrialize project solutions.Responsibilities:Conducting project pre-studies and component placement to ensure a clash free solution.Solving packaging items and delivering quality geometry for our future products.Documenting packaging items within the Volvo system to assign corrective tasks to the responsible engineer.Running weekly meetings to present/discuss open packaging items related to the front area of the truck.Driving solutions for complete offer scenario maximizing common parts.Maintaining awareness of other projects which may impact your current projects or areas of responsibility.Evolving a strategy for packaging of all variant combinations as input to future loops.Confirming component specifications and compliance prior to release.Contributing enhancements to our processes, methods, and tools for future improvements.Your future team:Our team, Vehicle Geometry & Production Support, sits within Vehicle Engineering which is a part of Volvo Group Trucks Technology North America.
