Compensation:

$78,000.00 - $90,000.00

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Design and develop cutting-edge business applications for IBM iSeries environments using RPG, aligning solutions with business goals.

Work closely with stakeholders to understand their business needs and transform them into technical specifications and high-performance software.

Conduct thorough testing to ensure applications meet quality standards prior to deployment and perform regular maintenance and updates post-launch.

Provide comprehensive support and training to users, assisting them in effectively utilizing new technologies and systems.

Focus on continuous improvement by staying updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, suggesting upgrades to existing systems to enhance functionality.

Ensure documentation is complete, concise, and maintained regularly to support software upgrades, patches, and troubleshooting.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in RPG programming on IBM iSeries platforms.

Proficient in designing, coding, and maintaining business accounting applications.

Strong problem-solving skills, able to diagnose and resolve complex system issues efficiently.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with team members and business stakeholders.

Demonstrated experience in managing entire software development lifecycle, from concept through to debugging, testing, and final implementation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Degree in Software Development, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Additional programming skills in PHP, CL, or other relevant languages.

Experience with Agile or Scrum software development methodologies.

Previous roles involving close collaboration with business users in a consultative or customer-facing capacity.

Familiarity with industry standards and certifications pertinent to software development and information security.

Skills:

Advanced knowledge of RPG, RPGLE, SQLRPGLE, and related development tools and frameworks.

Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time, even under tight deadlines.

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to apply them to systems issues and products as required.

Detail-oriented approach to documentation, capable of creating clear and comprehensive user guides and reports.

Leadership skills, with the ability to mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive results.
