December 1, 2024Job SummaryPerforms advanced (senior-level) computer systems analysis work. Serves as the primary Drupal and WordPress administrator for the agency. The analyst develops and maintains custom web applications. The analyst performs logical database management for agency web applications. The analyst creates and maintains appropriate technical and security documentation. The analyst assigns projects and guides the work of the other developers. Provides training and instructions to IT staff in application development and website best practices. Participates in and advises cross-agency workgroups in the implementation of web page templates and standards across the enterprise. Works under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.Essential TasksServes as the team lead for other Developer Analysts.Coordinates and/or administers the agency's website and blogs.Coordinates and/or maintains custom web applications to support agency operations.Trains team members in application development and website management best practices.Coordinates and/or participates in cross-agency workgroups, providing advice in the implementation of standard web page templates and enterprise usage of web applications.Attends work regularly in accordance with agency leave and attendance policies.Complies with all applicable agency policies and procedures, including safety and standards of conduct.Performs other duties, as assigned.Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalency.Four (4) years' experience using PHP programming language within the LAMP or LEMP software stack to develop and maintain web applications.Four (4) years' experience designing, developing, and administrating enterprise websites, tools, workflows, custom themes and modules using a Content Management System (CMS) within a LAMP or LEMP software stack, which must include experience in the following:

Using HTML and CSS in accordance with current web standards.Design and development of MySQL databases.Using JavaScript for web application front-end development.

Developing web applications within web development frameworks and extensions.Experience with Drupal website administration.Experience with WordPress website administration.Preferred QualificationsGraduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in computer science, information systems, or related areas of studyExperience implementing and managing successful information retrieval systems (Drupal Search, Solr, or other open-source tools).Experience with website administration and management using Drupal administration tool, Drush.Experience building responsive websites.Experience with AJAX web development techniques to create asynchronous web applications.Experience using Python programming language within the LAMP or LEMP software stack to develop and maintain applications.Experience using Laravel web development framework.Experience using Remedy or KACE ticketing systemsCurrent industry certifications related to programming or web development.Knowledge Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of the Linux operating system and CLI.Knowledge of system development methodologies, programming concepts, computer equipment and operating systems, and development environment procedures.Knowledge of Python, JavaScript, Ruby and Java.Knowledge of cross-site scripting and SQL injection security issues.Ability to recognize, analyze, and provide solutions to computing problems.Ability to follow detailed instructions and documentation standards.Ability to establish and maintain effective and cordial working relationships with staff at all organizational levels, and external entities.Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.Ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines.Ability to provide effective project leadership.Environmental/Physical ConditionsNormal office work environment. May have exposure to dust and environmental allergens consistent with normal business activities and human contact. Mostly sedentary in nature but may involve moving; standing; remaining stationary for long periods of time; pulling and pushing; kneeling, stooping, and bending; and safely moving items weighing up to 30 pounds. Work involves extensive repetitive motions while operating the computer. Normal cognitive abilities including the ability to learn, recall, and apply certain practices and policies. Some travel, including overnight travel, by personal automobile required.
