www.naces.org .CLASS DESCRIPTION:

A Systems Analyst I develops systems designs, specifications and procedures. The work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities. Incumbents receive general supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class may be required to work shifts, weekends and holidays. Work is performed in an office where working conditions are normal. The work requires minimal physical exertion.SELECTION PROCESS:

Have a bachelor's degree in electronic data processing or computer science from an accredited college or university.ANDEXPERIENCE:

Have four years of experience in preparing programs for computers including two years in systems design.OREQUIVALENCY NOTES:

Have an equivalent combination of education and experience.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Knowledge of the principles and practices of systems analysis and design.Knowledge of the interrelationship of systems analysis, computer programming and data processing operations.Ability to design complex systems consisting of a wide variety of programs, procedures and forms.Ability to analyze the cost of systems installation and maintenance and to make recommendations.Ability to prepare systems forms, documents, files, specifications, instructions and procedures.Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with associates and computer users.Ability to advise and provide direction and guidance to others on systems design and computer programming.EXAMINATION PROCESS:
