The CNC Programmer is responsible and accountable for developing and implementing precision machining procedures for machined components and assemblies. The CNC Programmer is also responsible for improving the processes of producing existing parts and assists in training machine operators regarding precision machining concepts and techniques.Responsibilities

Develop precision machining procedures for machined components and assemblies. This work encompasses: material selection, operations/routings, set-up instructions, fixtures design, tooling selection, CNC programming, in-process methods of inspection and first article production.Develop, verify and prove-out of CNC programs.Ensure production methods implemented provide cost effective solutions and achieve high quality.Analyze, develop and implement improved manufacturing processes for existing parts.Participate in troubleshooting and problem solving technical issues and implementing necessary corrective actions and solutions.Actively participate in company’s continuous improvement initiatives and events.Evaluate and implement Internal Engineering Change Requests.Evaluate and implement Customer Design Change Requests.Assist in day to day manufacturing operations.Participate in quoting processes including: technical capability assessment, drawing/specification review, material selection and labour cost estimates, tooling, fixture design and programming costs.Assist in training machine operators regarding precision machining concepts and techniques.Comply with health and safety rules and regulations.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications

Engineering Technician/Technologist – Mechanical Engineering (Numerical Control)Community College or equivalent working experience equivalent.10 years’ experience in precision machining manufacturing processes, equipment and materials. Excellent knowledge of CNC Programming, preferably Mastercam.Excellent machining knowledge in 5-axis milling and turning.Excellent knowledge of CAD, preferably Solid Edge or Solid Works.Strong knowledge of GD&T.Working knowledge of Traveler administration, drawings, and process set-up sheets.Working knowledge of MS Office – Excel and Word.Salary Range
