Our California division, located in Huntington Beach, seeks an experienced Toolroom Programmer.
Summary
The Toolroom Programmer is responsible for programming, operating (as needed), the set up and testing of programs once created. Gage, fixture design and tooling experience is a must. Strong SolidWorks (CAD) and Mastercam (CAM) software required.
Responsibilities
Program CNC milling machines (Fanuc controls) to shape metal parts to specifications in tooling prints using drawings, existing programs and verbal instructions.Obtain from department schedules, verbal instruction, or professional experience such information as: tooling components to be made, standard fixtures to be used, machine settings, number of parts to be machined, and programs to be used.Mount specified component to standard fixture on machine.Position and secure parts in machine.Move controls to align parts, load job specific program into machine, and adjust machine settings.Observe and verify machine settings, part orientation, and proper program through dry run.Inspect work visually and with measuring instruments using designs, sketches, and verbal instruction.Request needed supplies through Toolroom Manager.Ensure documentation and records are maintained in ERP system.Provide backup support for Wire EDM machines when needed.Maintain 5S organizational system throughout the work area.Attend training activities as required.Participate in continual improvement teams and activities as required.Skills:
Graduation from high school or receipt of equivalent degree (GED).Minimum 5 years of experience operating CNC Machining centers and lathes.Experience with machining tooling components.CNC programming experience.Mastercam CADSolidWorks CAMFanuc programming
