We are a small but mighty team responsible for all software activities within the company. Our tech stack includes C++, Python 3, ReactJS, TypeScript, Grafana, and AWS.ABOUT THE ROLEVolta is seeking a talented and driven Software Engineer excited to solve complex cross-disciplinary problems in developing and integrating our novel instrument platform. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in commercial software development, with a strong background in Python 3.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and timelinesDesign, develop, and maintain features for customer-facing products and internal toolsDebug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software errorsDeploy software updates to fleets of instrumentsDocument software design, implementation, and testing proceduresParticipate in code reviews and write unit testsIdentify opportunities for process improvement and innovationMinimum qualifications3-5 years of professional experience in software development using Python 3 on LinuxProficiency in web development technologies, specifically ReactJS / Typescript / HTML / CSS5Experience with software development best practicesExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsBS or higher in Computer Science or related fieldKeen interest in learning about molecular biology and genomicsPreferred qualificationsExperience developing software to control hardwareExperience with cloud computing platforms, specifically AWSExperience with fast-paced startup environmentsWe are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
