who will be a key support to the Combined Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD)/Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Trainer (CIAT) program in Dahlgren, VA.Job Description:
Deliver solutions and services to our customer using your expertise and experience.Work closely with a team of software engineers supporting the US Government in multiple software products supporting the Combined IAMD/ASW Trainer (CIAT) program.Work from requirements specifications to develop or modify software applications.Design, code, benchmark test, debug, and document application features and changes.Review and assess existing enterprise applications to support new features, performance improvements, upgrades, and ongoing sustainment.Participate in the development of new systems throughout the entire application lifecycle, requirements analysis & definition, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and sustainment.Participate in activities that ensure the successful use of these systems including developing documentation, test scripts, and training materials.Work in an Agile team environment participating in Sprint planning, retrospectives, reviews, and daily standups.Work closely with other members of a team in a pair programming environment.Work in an air-gapped environment on classified software products.Qualifications:
Must have a BS or BA (prefer Computer Science or a related scientific, engineering or information management field) and at least 5 years of related experience or HS and at least 9 years' experience with military or technical IT related training/certification courses.Must have experience with software development utilizing Windows 10 and/or Red Hat 7.9 and technical documentation.Must have experience with Java11+ and C++11.Must have experience in RedHat 7/9 terminal navigation and commands.Must have experience with (but not limited to):
Bash, Batch, and PowerShell scriptingTest-Driven Development Software PracticesSoftware Design ConceptsAgile: Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Retrospective, and Backlog Refinement CeremoniesContinuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) Pipelining
Must be familiar with (but not limited to); Jira, Gradle and/or CMake, Confluence, Git, GitLab (GitHub is acceptable), Jenkins (or an alternative CI/CD Pipeline Utility), SonarQube (or an alternative Static Analysis product), JFrog Artifactory.Desired Qualifications:
Prefer previous experience supporting the US Government in multiple software products supporting the Combined IAMD/ASW Trainer (CIAT) program.Knowledge of Aegis Combat System desired but not required.Security Requirements:
Must have an Active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to maintain a clearance.Travel Requirements:
Position is on site NSWC Dahlgren Division, Dahlgren, VAOccasional travel- less than 10%If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID.Physical Requirements:
Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.Communicating with others to exchange information.Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers, light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
