Senior Software Engineer

to join our team supporting development, integration, test, and evaluation Nulka as a lead software engineer (On-site/Hybrid) Dahlgren, VA location.Job Description:

The ideal candidate will lead a software engineer team in the development of new and emerging Navy tactical system that integrates with the full suite of combat sensors in support of the US Navy focusing on developing and modernizing electronic warfare (EW) system.Interface with customers, suppliers, application users and other technical and support personnel to determine appropriate software standards, processes, procedures and tools to best achieve project success.Qualifications:

Must have at least fifteen (15) years of experience in software design, development and engineering applied to program and system level development.Must have five (5) years of demonstrated experience in developing real-time system and subsystem level software products, databases (Oracle, MSAccess, etc), knowledge or experience with operating systems (LINUX and MS Windows) and interfaces.Must have five (5) years of experience or equivalent with Navy or other Armed Services programs and/or systems.Must have modeling and/or simulations, real-time system control architectures, interface coding, Information Assurance/Cyber Security requirements, Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) experience, experience and/or ability to code in the following: in C++; C #; JAVA; Simu-Link; Python, RTI-DDS, and PLA.Must have experience developing software to communicate with other hardware using TCP/IP, UDP, and serial communications.Must have experience in combat system integration and system architecture.Must have experience with Object Oriented software design concepts.Must have experience with GNAT Ada compiler; VxWorks; Tornado.Must have experience Electronic Warfare Systems and other Shipboard systems.Must have experience with Navy Software Safety and industry best programming practices.Must have experience with Agile methodology.Desired Qualifications:

Prefer Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical EngineeringFive (5) years of experience or equivalent with Navy or other Armed Services programs and/or systems.Agile methodology & knowledge of GIT, Jira, and BitBucket.Navy Product Line Architecture.Combat system integration and system architecture.Cloud Computing environments.Security Requirements:

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.Travel Requirements:

Occasional travel- less than 10% (Travel to Dahlgren, VA)If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID.Physical Requirements:

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment.Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods, moving about to accomplish tasks, or moving from one worksite to another.Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.Valkyrie strictly adheres to a policy of equal employment opportunity.
