This role involves interpreting technical drawings, selecting appropriate tooling, and optimizing machining processes. The position also includes maintaining equipment, managing tool inventories, and training operators, all while upholding safety and cleanliness in the workspace.HoursMonday – Thursday: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PMJob ResponsibilitiesPrograms NC machines in CAM SoftwarePrograms, operates and maintains 3 axis milling machinesPrograms 5 Axis extrusion milling machinesReviews drawings, instructions, and blueprints to ensure accurate productionReviews and selects correct tooling for cutting parts, materials and featuresSelects appropriate machine and settings for a given taskPlans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignmentMaintains inventory of tools, supplies and coordinates repairsAssists in design and creation of fixtures and work holding jigsChecks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defectsIdentifies need for machine maintenance and performs daily upkeep of equipmentMaintains a safe and clean workstationTrains operators on how to set up and run machinesRequirements:Excellent coordination and mechanical skillsProficient in programming machines in CAM software(s)Familiarity with CAD Software(s)Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safetySolid written and verbal communication skillsKnowledgeable of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)Proficient in mathBasic computer skillsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasksEducation & Experience:High school degree or equivalentExperience working with machine tools or mechanical assemblyWorking knowledge of safety protocolsApprenticeship or vocational training preferredBenefits:Starting at 4 weeks of paid time off for vacation/sick11 paid holidaysCompany provided health insurance, short term disability, and long-term disabilityCompetitive Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage options401-k match of 50% on your contribution up to 6%Education Reimbursement of $5,250/year for qualifying programs and coursesNortek Air Solutions offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package.
