Together, we can make an impact!Job Scope:Actively participate in the Company's day to day research and development activities which include: systems development and integration testing, execution and interpretation of scientific & engineering experiments. The Manager of R&D system Integration will take a technical leadership role to others in the group and is often considered to be a subject matter expert. The primary role is systems development and integration testing of automated instrumentation including bead based detection instrumentation, automated sample preparation, DNA/RNA detection, biological assays, detection and capture methods, and consumables. Collaborate with a team of systems R&D scientists and engineers in the development of next generation systems. Investigate systems development and customer driven issues in a lab environment and provide feedback to Systems R&D, Technical Operations and manufacturing. Design verification testing of new systems, system updates and documentation updates. Write design verification protocols & reports, design documents, validation reports and provide internal technical support and training. Support on market products as needed.Key Duties and Responsibilities:HW/SW integration, development and troubleshooting of automated instrumentation.Take on a leadership role during development cycles and act as a technical leader to others in the groupResponsibility may include managing a team of engineer(s) and scientist(s)Responsible for designing and conducting experiments in biological and engineering laboratory, systems integration testing and systems development, including analysis of results.Verification / Validation of new products, system updates and documentation updates.Includes writing design verification protocols and protocol reports.Write reports for regulatory agencies as necessary.Systems R&D lead for all internal inquiries pertaining to on market products. Responsible for troubleshooting a wide range of system level problems that include instrument hardware and calibration method, CAPA support, field related complaints, consumable failure rates, instrument performance and assay invalid failures. Present / Communicate test results within department and across departments as required.Troubleshooting and failure investigation experiments on Market released and pre-market systems.Script based development of process workflow for automated instrumentation.Research and investigate systems development and complex customer-driven technical issues for resolution.Additional Research & Development tasks and support of on market product testing as need arises.Interacts with various internal and external groups to facilitate the completion of product development, design transfer and troubleshooting efforts.Education, Experience, and Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in chemistry, biology, molecular biology or biomedical engineering. required5+ Years systems integration testing and systems development experience in a multidisciplinary research and development environment, preferably medical device systems. requiredUnderstanding of product development processesAbility to translate written product specifications into functional product designsMust have strong integration, analytical and troubleshooting skillsUnderstanding of script languages such as Python and SchemeAbility to develop calibration routines for prototype and alpha instrumentationTravel Requirements5% Domestic travel may be requiredDiasorin is an equal opportunity employer.
