Description

We are seeking a

Senior Cloud Architect

to lead the transition of a Windows-based .NET application to a cloud-native environment, ideally using the ASP.NET Core cross-platform web development framework. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both

Azure

and

AWS GovCloud

platforms, enabling them to evaluate and architect a scalable, secure, and compliant solution for highly regulated environments, including

IL-5/IL-6 . This role will focus on designing cloud-native infrastructure, guiding the development team, and establishing the necessary DevSecOps processes to ensure scalability, performance, and security.

Locations:

Brunswick, ME (Preferred); Also, would consider: Warrenton, VA; Lexington Park, MD; Doylestown, PA

Responsibilities :

Evaluate both Azure and AWS GovCloud

environments to determine the most suitable platform for hosting the application, considering factors such as scalability, security (IL-5/IL-6), and integration with existing systems.

Design and architect a

cloud-native solution

to transition the current

Windows-based .NET application

to the cloud, focusing on microservices, autoscaling, and secure architecture.

Implement

multi-cloud strategies

where appropriate, enabling flexibility between

Azure

and

AWS GovCloud .

Collaborate with development, DevSecOps, and data teams to ensure seamless integration and continuous deployment of cloud services.

Ensure that the cloud architecture adheres to

IL-5/IL-6

security standards, with a focus on compliance, encryption, and data protection.

Establish and oversee the setup of

DevSecOps pipelines

for automated testing, deployment, and monitoring.

Provide guidance on the transition of data architecture to a cloud-native model, ensuring performance and security across distributed systems.

Stay current with both

Azure

and

AWS GovCloud

technologies and best practices, offering continuous improvements to cloud infrastructure and deployment processes.

Implement strategies for

disaster recovery (DR)

and

high availability (HA)

in a multi-region/multi-availability zone environment.

Qualifications :

10+ years

of experience in

cloud architecture

and

IT infrastructure , with a strong focus on both

Azure

and

AWS GovCloud

platforms.

Clearance:

Candidate must have a SECRET clearance or be able to acquire a SECRET clearance

Proven experience designing and implementing

cloud-native architectures

for large-scale, enterprise applications.

Expertise in

cloud security

and

compliance

for

IL-5/IL-6 environments .

Strong understanding of

microservices ,

serverless computing , and

container orchestration

using tools such as

Kubernetes

and

Docker .

Experience with setting up and managing

DevSecOps pipelines , including tools like

Azure DevOps ,

AWS CodePipeline , and

Jenkins .

Familiarity with

Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

tools such as

Terraform ,

CloudFormation , or

Azure Resource Manager (ARM) .

Strong experience in designing for

high availability

and

disaster recovery

across multiple regions or availability zones.

Certifications such as

Azure Solutions Architect Expert ,

AWS Certified Solutions Architect , or

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

are preferred.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
