in the Ashburn, VA area. This is an opportunity to work with a premier Worldwide IT Integration Corporation on a full-time basis!Current shift is M-F from 7am - 3:30pm. Shift may change in the future to Sun - Wednesday from 6am - 6pm.Pay - $28 an hourThis is a right to hire and full benefits after 90 days.Position Overview:
We are seeking a Level 1 Smart Hands Technician with data center experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide on-site technical support, including equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. This role requires a strong understanding of rack and stack procedures, break-fix tasks, networking, and fiber management.Key Responsibilities:Rack and Stack:
Assist with the installation and configuration of servers, network devices, and storage systems in racks.Ensure proper cable management and organization within the data center.
Break Fix:
Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware issues in a timely manner.Perform repairs and replacements of faulty components as needed.
Networking:
Support network device installations and configurations.Assist with basic network troubleshooting, including connectivity issues.
Fiber Management:
Handle fiber optic cables, including termination and patching.Maintain documentation of fiber installations and configurations.
General Smart Hands Support:
Provide general technical assistance as requested by remote engineers and clients.Follow standard operating procedures and best practices to ensure operational efficiency.
Qualifications:Previous experience in a data center environment.Familiarity with rack and stack processes, hardware troubleshooting, and break-fix methodologies.Basic understanding of networking concepts and fiber optics.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with remote teams.Preferred Qualifications:Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Cisco CCNA) are a plus.Experience with specific data center hardware (e.g., Dell, Client, Cisco) is beneficial.
