Responsibilities
GENERAL PURPOSE:The IT Project Manager III is a member of a cross-functional team where teamwork, collaboration, balancing competing priorities and continuous learning are the norm. This position is a member of the IT Project Office and in collaboration with team leads, application build teams and business, financial, operational and other stakeholders as designated. Responsibilities include end-to-end project management services of medium to large projects. Conforms to established guidelines, standards and conventions for project management and business requirements documentation.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages medium to large assigned IT projects independently. Gathers input from team members on required tasks and translates into a project plan with tasks, activities, dependencies, timelines, milestones, resource requirements, and deliverables. Monitors progress of project activities and ensures all critical implementation criteria are met.
Coordinates with Architects, Team Leads, Resource Managers, IT Leaders Sponsors as needed to ensure project team follows department processes for quality assurance, migrations and promotions, end-user acceptance/validation, training and support. Facilitates project meetings using effective meeting techniques for objectives, agendas, participants and meeting minutes. Develops and maintains reporting dashboards suitable for Senior Leadership to communicate project status. Conducts post-project lessons learned sessions to identify successful project elements and areas for future improvement.
Identifies, tracks and manages risks and mitigation plans within assigned projects, escalating as appropriate. Identifies, tracks and manages issues to resolution within assigned projects, escalating as appropriate.
Provides status reports to steering committees. Utilizes a variety of project management methodologies as appropriate to the project. Manages project scope and timeline, using appropriate governance bodies and Project Office leadership direction.
Keeps current with business and strategic goals. Understands other University service providers. Stays apprised of teams roles, processes, tools and architecture to better understand how the team works together to meet users' needs. Attends webinars, reads case studies and white papers and participates in other opportunities to further refine skills and stay apprised on project management.
Coaches and positively influences project team members to ensure accountability and action.
Determines scope of the problem/project through collaboration with the executive project sponsor, key users and system and application analysts. Collaborates with technical team leads and/or Resource Managers to assign appropriate resources to the project. Obtains necessary approvals.
Makes presentations to staff on work-related issues. Serves on committees and attends meetings as requested.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree required in related discipline such as Project Management, Business Administration, Information Technology, or Engineering.
5 years of related experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in healthcare or higher education field and ServiceNow, JIRA, Smartsheet, Clarity PPM or Project Portfolio Management (PPM software experience preferred). Detail-oriented with a proven ability to manage projects and excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation, analytical and problem-solving skills required.
Extensive computer literacy, including Microsoft Project, Teams and PowerPoint preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification may be required within a year of hire and Agile certification (PMI-ACP, DASM or CSM) preferred.

Pay Range
Pay Range: $86,482 - $129,723 Annually
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
