In Countermeasure & Electromagnetic Attack Solutions, we provide next-generation threat detection and countermeasure solutions to provide unparalleled electronic warfare capabilities to enhance mission survivability. Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed fulltime on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.
In this role, you will support Compass Call Systems Engineering to define, develop and maintain system test software tools used to create automated data solutions. The group is looking for unique cross-functional individuals who like to work with multiple software languages and program on numerous system types. Successfully performing in this exciting role will reward you with valuable transferable career experience. Systems Engineering is the next logical career step for those individuals in software who take a systems thinking viewpoint and approach. You will not be disappointed.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Providing technical leadership and mentoring to other system software engineers
Writing systems test software that:
Transforms requirements and test procedures into code
Manages and wrangles data from databases
Visualizes data results
Interfaces to test equipment and/or custom devices
Resides on subsystems and/or embedded devices
Writing software scripts in various languages to execute system OS commands, interface with subsystems and devices
Writing automated scripts in various languages that control execution and perform data analysis.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
U.S. Citizenship with Secret Clearance
BS or MS Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent degree and/or experience in C/C++ and one or more scripting languages
Team-focused and self-motivated. Able to work as part of a coordinated team, yet independently as necessary.
Friendly and approachable with strong communication skills
Desire to keep current within a stimulating and evolving environment.
Develop software under a left shift “test as you develop” philosophy contributing to defect-free software
Understands and/or has experience with requirements-based design and testing
Understands and has the ability to write system OS-level scripts
Understands and has experience with object-oriented design and implementation
Understands databases, data governance, representation, and visualization
Understands client and server-side programming constructs
Follows software engineering best practices
Experience with source control and configuration management tools
Experience developing using Visual Studio and/or Eclipse
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
U.S. Citizenship with Top Secret/SCI Clearance
Experience with Ruby, Python, SQL; HTML/JavaScript, VBScript, or equivalent
Experience with DOORS, ClearCase, GIT, JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket.
Experience with COSMOS, MATLAB, HTML, JSON, XML, Linux, Windows, Microsoft Power BI a plus
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $92,290 - $156,860
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
