This role involves developing and implementing data security policies, managing data encryption solutions, and conducting regular audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Essential skills include expertise in data protection technologies, strong analytical abilities, and a thorough understanding of regulatory frameworks such as GDPR and CCPA.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement data security policies, protocols, and procedures.Lead and manage a team of data security engineers, providing guidance and support.Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities.Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of security software and tools.Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and respond to security breaches.Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure data security compliance.Develop and deliver training programs on data security best practices.Stay updated on the latest security threats and technologies.Prepare and present reports on security incidents and mitigation strategies.Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.QualificationsProven experience in data security management, preferably in the financial services sector.Strong leadership and team management skills.In-depth knowledge of data security protocols and best practices.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to data security.Experience with incident response and disaster recovery planning.Strong project management skills.Ability to stay updated with the latest security trends and technologies.Education & ExperienceMinimum Required: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent work experience.Minimum Required: 5+ years of experience in data security or a related field.Licenses & CredentialsCertified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).CompTIA Security+.GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC).Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) is a plus.Relevant vendor-specific certifications (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft, AWS).Membership in professional security organizations (e.g., ISACA, ISC2).Systems & TechnologyKnowledge of encryption technologies and data loss prevention (DLP) solutions.Experience with endpoint security solutions (e.g., antivirus, EDR).Understanding of portfolio and project management tools.Understanding of monitoring and event management tools.Solid knowledge of relational database technologies and reporting tools.Experience with office productivity, reporting, and technical documentation software.About StifelStifel is a more than 130 years old and still thinking like a start-up.
