Our talented staff of more than 450+ professionals deliver integrated planning, design, engineering, and construction solutions to our clients from our offices throughout Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, West Virginia, and Alabama.Due to MSG's continued growth in our Civil/Municipal Division, a new opening is available for a Project Engineer in Columbus, OH!
Key Responsibilities
Work in conjunction with licensed engineers assisting with the design and preparation of a variety of commercial, industrial, energy, water/waste water, and community projects throughout the Midwest.Coordinate with fellow MSG staff across a variety of service sectors including: Surveying, Geotechnical, Structural, Traffic, Transportation, Site Construction, etc.Perform and check various design calculations and perform various tasks as they relate to preparing a design package.Prepare front end feasibility documents, due diligence reports and zoning studies, project development, storm water modeling and design, cost estimates, and detailed design plans.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Practical experience in design and plan preparation of site development projects.Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.EI certification in the state of Ohio, with the ability to obtain PE certification within 6 to 12 months.Experience with industry design standards.Understanding of guidelines and specifications (i.e., City of Columbus and surrounding counties, ODOT, etc.).Knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D grading is required.Proficiency in independent preparation of Hydraulic/Hydrologic reports is preferred.Roadway design and survey experience are a plus.The ability to engage reviewing agencies while preparing technical designs and addressing comments is a critical part of our process.The ideal candidate will be comfortable communicating and coordinating with review agencies.
