WORKSITE :811 Barton Springs Rd.Suite 111Austin, TX 78704Travis CountyDUTIES:Work collaboratively in a team environment to lead staff and accomplish task assignments related to schematic and PS&E bridge design for a variety of transportation projects, with a focus on TxDOT work. Ability to perform independent design check calculations.Provide engineering direction and mentorship to Bridge Engineers-in-Training and direct CADD draftsmen and technicians in daily work activities associated with project plan development.Ensure that work produced by the team is of high quality, meets the TxDOT standards, and is completed within the project timelines and budgets.Conduct comprehensive quality assurance and quality control (QAQC) reviews of project plan sets independently, ensuring compliance with TxDOT standards and project specifications.Proficient in design software like Bentley Open Bridge Modeler, Open Bridge Designer (LEAP Concrete, LEAP Steel), PG Super, STMD Pro, Midas Civil, CSI Bridge, and TxDOT bridge programs to perform detailed engineering analysis and design for bridge elements.Provide support and assistance to less experienced staff by addressing their questions and resolving any issues that they encounter.Ability to independently produce 3D geometric designs for horizontal & vertical geometry for bridges, culverts, retaining walls and embankments, and cutting cross sections and detail sheets.MINIMUM EDUCATION:Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis required.MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:3 years of experience in an occupation related to bridge and transportation engineering including structural analysis and design for concrete and steel bridges and structures using AASHTO LRFD, ACI, AISC Design Codes and TxDOT Bridge Manuals and preferences for highway projects. Experience with software used for design of concrete and steel structures and foundations. Working knowledge of Bentley OpenBridge Designer, OpenRoads Modeler, MicroStation, and Geopak.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.TRAVEL REQUIREMENT:5% travel within Texas as required.If you are interested in this position, please complete the following form and attach a Cover Letter and Resume.
