SHAPE THE FUTURE OF MOBILITY FROM DAY ONE.This position is part of our Advanced Safety and User Experience segment (AS&UX).Responsibilities:Conduct value analysis and value engineering activities to optimize product design, improve functionality, and reduce costs.Lead and contribute to the design and development of wiring harness systems for automotive applications.Utilize CAD tools such as CATIA, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks to create detailed wiring harness designs.Manage design changes throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to change control processes and procedures.Generate and release engineering drawings, schematics, and charts in accordance with internal standards and industry regulations.Participate in all phases of product development, including concept design, prototyping, testing, and validation.Utilize PLM software to manage product data, documentation, and revisions throughout the product lifecycle.Manage the Bill of Materials (BOM) for assigned projects, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with engineering specifications.Coordinate changes to the BOM and communicate updates to relevant teams and suppliers.Your Background:Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.Knowledge of OE & aftermarket engine, OBD, transmission or vehicle systems calibration, validation, and development.Knowledge of product development tools including data acquisition, management, and analysis tools.Knowledge of programming languages such as Python and/or C.Knowledge or experience in working for Commercial Vehicle or Passenger Car companies.Experience or education in data science.Strong written and oral communication skills; this role interacts with both external customers and internal management.Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Ability to see the “big picture” and understand how individual tasks interconnect and impact other parts of the testing process.Why join us?You can grow at Aptiv.
