Database and Programming Analyst

Project descriptionDeveloped product is the leading software system in the Energy domain covering all aspects of Oil & Gas production from geological exploration to optimization of ongoing production. Our technology solution helps geologists and geophysicists to research, visualize, and interpret large volumes of geological data. Work supposes close cooperation with the Customer team located in Houston and following Agile principles.ResponsibilitiesDevelops and maintains project data model.Manages and supports databases including developing required queries and stored procedures.Establishes the needs of users and monitors user access and security.Assists team with debugging and optimization of SQL queries and stored procedures.Ongoing database performance tuning and upgrades, including monitoring and evaluation of all database patches and service packs.

SKILLSMust have7+ years of experience implementing and managing databases.Understanding of relational databases and concepts.Good working knowledge of SQL Server/Postgres.Proven experience with system analysis and database design.Proven working experience in database optimization.Experience with database backup/recovery.Good understanding of data security.Experience working in VDB design and implementation.Proven hands-on Software Development experience.Good communication skills in English.Good problem-solving skills.Good documentation skills.Completion of an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or MIS.

Nice to haveExperience with Java/Python and any programming language is desirable.Experience working in big data is desirable.Data science knowledge is desirable.Certification in related tools e.g. SQL, .NET, Oracle is desirable.Flexible to travel.Chinese communication is preferred.Experience working in the oil and gas domain is preferred.
