Senior Server Engineer

Position SummaryKey contributor to the design, implementation and maintenance of the Kootenai Health enterprise server and data center infrastructure. This includes, but is not limited to, virtualization, compute, storage, and applications supporting the infrastructure like Active Directory and enterprise backups.ResponsibilitiesContributes to developing, implementing, maintaining and revising policies and procedures for KH enterprise server infrastructureAnalyzes existing systems and makes proactive recommendations for improvementsMaximizes server performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshootingHandles escalations from Server Engineers and Server AdministratorsTroubleshoots complex server performance issues across all enterprise server technologies dealing with virtualization, Microsoft Windows, Linux, SAN, and enterprise backup solutionsPerforms other related duties as assignedFamiliar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the fieldRelies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish projects and tasksRegular and predictable attendance is an essential job functionCompetent to meet age specific needs of the unit assignedRequirements and Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in related discipline, or equivalent experience preferredMinimum of 8 years of progressive, relevant server experienceMicrosoft certification preferredIn-depth technical skills across multiple enterprise server and data center technologiesWorking knowledge of Network InfrastructureWorking ConditionsMust be able to lift and move up to 10 lbsMust be able to reach arms above or below shoulder heightMust be able to maintain a sitting positionTypical equipment used in an office jobRepetitive movementsAbout Kootenai HealthKootenai Health is a highly esteemed health care organization, serving patients throughout northern Idaho and the Inland Northwest.
