Assists patients in understanding their diagnosis, treatment options and the resources available.
Team Highlights:
Kootenai Clinic is the regional cancer treatment center for northern Idaho, eastern Washington, and western Montana. We deliver comprehensive, compassionate cancer care using leading-edge technology, the newest therapies and a wide range of clinical trials as well as rehabilitation. To minimize the difficulties patients, face traveling during treatment, our doctors offer cancer treatment in three locations: Coeur d'Alene, Post Falls, and Sandpoint.
Responsibilities:Serves as an essential link between patients and all other medical staffFacilitates appointments for consults and support services within established service standards, including social workers, dietitians and physiciansCoordinates multidisciplinary planning conferences, develops concise patient summaries for use by the care team and documents recommendations made utilizing standardized care protocols in accordance with nationally recognized care guidelinesDevelops patient education programs and toolsFollows patients throughout the care continuum, including inpatient admissions and collaborates with inpatient care management resourcesAdheres to established productivity benchmarks; identifies opportunities to reduce the cost of careResponsible for outreach efforts to establish and maintain positive working relationships with medical staffPerforms other related duties as assignedFamiliar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the fieldRegular and predictable attendance is an essential job functionCompetent to meet age specific needs of the unit assignedRequirements and Minimum Requirements:
BSN required; MSN preferredGraduate of a nationally accredited nursing programLicensed as a RN by the Idaho Board of Nursing OR licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the "multi-state privilege to practice" compact with IdahoMinimum of 3 years of relevant nursing experience requiredCertification within specialty area required within one year of meeting qualificationsBLS requiredAbout Kootenai Health:
