Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Senior Infrastructure Administrator to manage and optimize our enterprise-level server and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in handling complex server and network systems, troubleshooting critical issues, and implementing cutting-edge technologies. This role requires hands-on expertise in managing on-premise and cloud environments, ensuring top-level performance, security, and availability.Key Responsibilities
Server Management:
Install, configure, and maintain Windows, Linux, and cloud-based servers in production environments.Monitor and optimize server performance using diagnostic tools to identify and resolve bottlenecks.Perform hands-on system upgrades, patches, and hardware migrations with minimal service disruption.Manage virtualization platforms like VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
Network Management:
Configure and manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks.Ensure network performance, reliability, and security by implementing and maintaining firewalls, IDS/IPS, and access controls.
Automation and Scripting:
Develop and implement automation scripts and tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash, Ansible) to streamline server and network management tasks.
Backup & Recovery:
Execute and oversee backup operations, ensuring robust data integrity and disaster recovery strategies.
Active Directory Management:
Manage and maintain Active Directory (AD) services, including domain controllers, DNS, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs).Perform AD migrations, upgrades, and integrations with cloud environments such as Azure AD and Office 365.
Security:
Implement and enforce security measures across server and network environments, ensuring systems are regularly patched and protected from vulnerabilities.Secure AD environments with role-based access controls, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and auditing.
Documentation and Process Improvement:
Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting processes.
Key Skills & Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent hands-on experience is highly valued.
Experience:
7 years of hands-on experience in managing large-scale enterprise environments, including Windows, Linux, and cloud-based infrastructure.Expert-level understanding of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux), networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and virtualization technologies.Strong knowledge of Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, and Kerberos, with experience in managing multi-site domain infrastructures.
Technical Skills:
Networking: In-depth knowledge of networking protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking devices.Virtualization: Expertise in VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM platforms.Automation: Proficiency in automation tools such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, and Ansible.Security: Hands-on experience with firewall technologies, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and security best practices.Backup & Recovery: Proven track record in managing backup systems and real-world disaster recovery.
Additional Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry server and network hardware for physical installations.Occasional travel may be required for data center management or remote office support.
