Position Overview
Gravity is seeking an experienced IT Systems and Network Administrator to manage both on-premises and cloud-based environments as we focus on migrating our applications to Azure. This migration will require a period where both Network and Systems Administration on-premises, as well as Cloud Administration, will be essential. The role involves maintaining our current infrastructure while facilitating a seamless transition to the cloud. You will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and security of both environments.
Responsibilities
IT System/Network Administration
Administer and maintain Windows Servers, including Active Directory management.
Manage and configure networking components, including DNS, firewall policies, and VPN setups.
Administer VMWare, including managing Virtual Machines and optimizing virtual environments.
Configure and manage services such as IIS, Proxies, Node/Express, Redis, Message queues, and SQL.
Implement High Availability solutions such as Failover Clusters and Load Balancers.
Manage SaaS applications, including release deployments, scaling, and monitoring.
Monitor and optimize network and server performance to ensure high availability and security.
Cloud Administration
Manage and optimize Azure Virtual Machines (VMs), scaling, and availability sets.
Configure and manage Azure Networking, including Virtual Networks (VNets), Network Security Groups (NSGs), DNS, load balancers, and VPN setups.
Administer Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions, including EntraID/Azure AD, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and security policies.
Manage and monitor SaaS applications on Azure, including Web Apps, API apps, and API Gateways.
Implement Azure Backup and Site Recovery strategies for business continuity.
Good to Have
Experience with Automation and Scripting using PowerShell and Azure CLI.
Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines (DevOps).
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using ARM Templates or Terraform.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience as a Network Administrator or similar role, managing both on-premises and cloud-based environments.
Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Windows Servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other network services.
Strong understanding of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and routing protocols.
Hands-on experience with VMWare, network security tools, firewalls, and encryption protocols.
Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
Experience with High Availability solutions, Azure cloud services, and SaaS applications.
Certifications (Preferred)
Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administration
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
CompTIA Network+
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
