Portfolio Manager/Trader Municipal Bond SMA Chicago, IL
Federated Hermes, Inc., one of the nations largest investment managers with over \$782.7 billion assets under management, has an exciting opportunity for a Municipal Bond SMA Portfolio Manager/Trader to join our talented CW Henderson team in Chicago. Federated Hermes CW Henderson manages over \$4 billion in high quality, tax-exempt municipals on a separately managed account basis (SMA) for high-net-worth clients and advisors. The team has a long history of providing attractive risk adjusted returns while preserving capital and delivering outstanding client service. The ideal candidate will have experience trading municipal bonds, understand the municipal bond market, and have experience transacting through multiple market cycles.
MAJOR DUTIES
Track portfolio characteristics, perform portfolio analytics and assess the viability and impact of proposed allocation changes. Make recommendations based on results of analysisSource investment ideas and buy/sell securities in client accountsMonitor current holdings for relative attractiveness and provide continuous feedback and investment ideasProvide ideas related to portfolio structure, holdings and risk profilePerform account level reviews to identify potential tax loss harvesting opportunities and/or yield enhancement opportunitiesAllocate bonds to client accountsExecute a cash management programExecute bid wanted lists for client liquidity needsUnderstand and convey macro considerations in defining relative performancePotentially support the marketing process by assisting in writing market commentaries and portfolio updatesInvestigate and resolve transaction settlement problems
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree required; accounting, finance and/or business-related field preferredMinimum 5 years of investment experience in municipal sales, trading, or portfolio managementWorking knowledge of municipal markets and deep understanding of municipal bond portfolio management/trading including but not limited to market nuances, supply/demand dynamics, credit spreads and credit quality, relative value trading, taxation, etc.Familiarity with various municipal trading systems and applications
