JM Steel is seeking a certified Journeyman Electrician at its Sinton, Texas manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for the installation of equipment electrical power distribution, troubleshooting of facility and equipment electrical faults, and PLC/automation programing and troubleshooting. This individual will be a member of the plant's maintenance team and report to the Maintenance Supervisor.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma/GED RequiredMinimum 4 (four) Years Electrical Experience, RequiredActive Journeyman Electrician Certification for Texas, RequiredProgrammable Logic Controller (PLC) Experience, PreferredQUALIFICATIONS:
Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of industrial electrical applications.Familiar with reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics.Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.Basic understanding of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems.Willingness to work in a loud, non-climate-controlled environment while adhering to safety requirements and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. and walk up and down stairs multiple times a day.Works cooperatively or independently and inspires a team effort with all.Strong interpersonal and communication.Highly organized and self-motivated.RESPONSIBILITIES:
Installation: Installing electrical components, wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, and power distribution panels, to include 480 voltage requirements.Maintenance: Maintaining, repairing, and testing electrical systems and equipment. Performing preventative maintenance functions to include lubricating and changing filters for AC and DC motors, electrical cabinets, and drive rooms. Responsibilities include performing maintenance tasks on plant equipment as well as the building facilities and mobile equipment.Troubleshooting: Troubleshooting electrical issues and repairing components in both the industrial plant and facilities environments. Common tasks are troubleshooting optical sensors, PLC drives, and faulted servo motors.Safety: Ensuring electrical systems are up to code and adherence to OSHA requirements.Inspections: Performing regular inspections and reporting concerns to a supervisorBlueprinting: Reading and interpreting electrical blueprints/schematics and translating blueprint information for other department members.Programming: Programming of automated controls and equipment.Participate in and support the Maintenance Department's activities, as required.Follow Company safety rules and guidelines, policies, and requirements.
