Their multidisciplinary teams, consisting of civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and corrosion control professionals, as well as project/construction managers and specialists, are known for their collaborative approach and dedication to quality, earning them a strong reputation in the engineering and construction communities.Position Summary:Our client is searching for a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience to join their DC Metro office. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity within a progressive firm. This role involves close collaboration with the business development team and other discipline leads to develop technical proposals and actively participate in marketing and business development efforts. The person in this position will mentor a team of engineering professionals within a collaborative, multidisciplinary office environment and work directly with clients to provide consulting services.Key Responsibilities:Design HVAC and plumbing systems.Manage and design multiple concurrent projects.Interpret technical drawings.Lead design team efforts.Manage project teams for budget and schedule control.Develop fee and qualification-based proposals.Collaborate with local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ) and maintain relationships.Engage in local industry activities.Ensure design conforms with all applicable codes and client standards.Prepare project drawings including ductwork plans, piping plans, sections, isometric piping drawings, and bills of materials.Perform HVAC calculations and analysis using standard industry programs.Conduct energy modeling.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited college or university.Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.), required.10+ years of engineering work experience.Experience with Load Calculation Software.Working knowledge of REVIT and CAD.Familiarity with relevant mechanical, energy, and plumbing codes.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Excellent time management skills.Ability to lead interdisciplinary projects and project teams.Ability to travel periodically.Benefits:Comprehensive benefits package.Family-friendly policies.Flexible PTO program.Opportunities for professional growth and development.Culture:Our client's team is composed of creative, high-performing individuals who thrive on collaboration and believe in the significance of their work.
