DescriptionWe are seeking a Production Manager to oversee and manage the Fresh Cuts production operations. This position will oversee all aspects of the processing operation emphasizing on labor management with the ultimate goal of operating at a highly efficient level to reduce costs and maximize profit. This individual must have decision-making capabilities and be able to quickly and effectively resolve issues in a fast-paced environment. Candidate must have a proven track record of effective leadership and implementation of ideas resulting in cost savings.***Ideal candidate will have vegetable or fruit processing experience within a food manufacturing facility.***Responsibilities & Duties:Monitor the process to ensure optimum efficiency of speed and accuracy. Put people in the right places.Enforce standards through progressive discipline. In order to be successful in this position there must be a great deal of observation and leadership provided to the production employees.Set up crews and establish leaders when performing a process. Utilize strengths and recognize weaknesses to ensure efficiencies.Ensure all finished goods produced are within the required specifications.Ensure all employees are adhering to Food Safety guidelines. Enforce GMP rules through progressive discipline when needed.Ensure the finished goods are properly sealed and labels of "use by date" are on the bags.Monitor production cost sheet. Make sure all items made in processing are on the sheet with correct yields, packaging costs, labor costs and pricing.Continuously train personnel to ensure we produce the best product.Ensure all products being processed are in good condition. Minimize over production to reduce waste.Teach all production workers to recognize when there is a problem and when they should stop and ask for help.Make sure all equipment and knives are in good working order. If equipment needs to be repaired, coordinate repair with Maintenance.Responsible for hiring and terminating production employees.Maintain production employee's performance appraisals up to date.Requirements:Bilingual English & Spanish is essentialMinimum 3 years work experience in crew managementKnowledge of GMP and HACCPKnowledge of MS office applications, such a s Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, and OutlookQualifications:Experience in a leadership operations position in a manufacturing/produce/packaging company, with the responsibilities of producing, purchasing, and production control.Well-developed interpersonal skills.
