The STS Group is a stock listed, globally leading supplier of components and systems for the commercial vehicle and automotive industries headquartered in France. Together, APG and STS are pioneering operations of Class A surface components for the heavy trucks in the USA.

We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead the engineering and maintenance teams in the first brand new STS facility in Salem, Virginia. The Technical Manager is responsible for supporting the plant and customer through effective management of new programs, plant projects and implementation of improvement and cost reduction suggestions. Develops assembly, process, fixturing and equipment to ensure high quality and cost-effective production. Assure design changes are implemented in a timely, cost-effective manner.

The Technical Manager will be based out of the Salem, Virginia facility. Relocation to Virginia is available.

Responsibilities of the Technical Manager:

Plan the maintenance of building, equipment and utilities ensuring proper functioningInsure the repeatability of the equipment and processes (measures and actions plan)Analyze problems while visualizing, planning and performing continuous improvement plans for the processes implemented in the plant (molding, bonding, drilling, etc.)Pilot and manage its employee to achieve company objectivesParticipate with other managers to the coordination of tasks to reach plant targets (production launch, quality, security, cost, timing)Supervise maintenance management and engineersNote:

Ideal Candidate Profile for the Engineering Manager

Professional experience of minimum of 5 years in the Engineering and Maintenance area within Automotive Supplier industry or similar.Experienced and knowledgeable with various equipment such as presses, automation, robotsExperience managing different teams & up to 30 peoples from engineer, expert to technician and workersExperience and knowledge with plastics, polymers, paint, class A / exterior surfacesExperience and knowledge of thermoset or thermoplastic is a plusOrganized, problem solver and solutions provider with a capacity for innovationAdaptable to a new environment (new plant, new people, new processes)Engineering degree or equivalent. Education may be substituted with equivalent experience.
