Sr Human Resources Manager
to join our 15-person decentralized HR team.You will support our Northern California region which consists of Sacramento, San Francisco, and San Jose offices and has a mixture of Architects, Engineers, Planners, and Interior Designers who thrive on working together to create holistic designs for our corporate, arts, community, healthcare and higher education clients. Collaboration with internal teams, building culture, and developing and sustaining internal relationships are key elements to the success of this position. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources, and interacts with leadership, project staff (designers, architects, engineers), and department staff in our Northern California offices.In this role you will::Recruitment, Employee Relations and CompensationProvides support and consulting in assigned offices in all human resources functionsConducts recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt staffActs as trusted advisor providing advice and counsel to managers on employee relations mattersPerforms employee relations activities to promote increased communication, conflict resolution, and employee recognition programsCounsels employees and leadership to settle work-related conflicts through advice and recommendationInitiates and participates in staff development, including coaching, performance evaluations, career path, and compensation recommendationsProvides compensation recommendations to ensure compliance and equity within the organizationDevelops, writes, and updates job descriptions from direct observation and/or interviews with the position incumbent and discussions with supervisorsCollaborates on the development of onboarding content and conducts in-office new employee orientationUpdates the HRIS system accurately and on a timely basis with changes in personnel and compensation levelsTrainingFacilitates various training programs to include hiring and selection, performance management, supervisor and leadership skills, and HR legal updatesResearches and recommends external employee training, when applicableHR Department participationParticipates in developing department goals, objectives and systemsRecommends and implements new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiency of the HR department and performed servicesLeads HR strategic goal projects as neededUsing the HRIS system and other information resources, generates a variety of department reports in order to compile related statistics and to provide useful information to the organizationEnsures policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance with legal requirements and government reporting regulationsKeeps abreast of current trends and developments in human resources by establishing professional affiliations and participating in professional activities to include seminars, conferences, and reading appropriate books and journalsYou will need to have::
Bachelors degree in Human Resources or other related field or equivalent8+ years of progressive HR experienceAbility to communicate with employees at all levels of the organizationExceptional communication skills, including oral, written and presentation skillsAbility to analyze and assimilate information from multiple sources to develop clear, actionable steps and recommendationsHigh level of integrity and ability to influence upward and outwardAbility to handle multiple priorities with a sense of urgencyStrong organizational skills, attention to detailCreative problem solving and critical decision-making skillsAbility to work collaboratively within the HR department and across the organizationPreferred Qualifications (Nice to have, but not required)Expert knowledge in California employment lawSenior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) or SHRM-SCP certification preferredProfessional services firm experience desiredExperience with iCIMS applicant tracking softwareFamiliarity with ADP payroll software, or equivalentAbility to travel, including overnight as required (20%)
Salary Information::The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGAs robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range: $102,900 - $158,900Additional Information::#LI-Hybrid
