About this role
As a Haul Truck Operator/ Heavy Equipment Operator at Newmont Mining, you will be responsible for the following:
Safety and Environmental Excellence:Lead by example in adhering to all safety and environmental processes, ensuring the highest standards of safety are maintained.Demonstrate a commitment to safe practices in all operational activities.Equipment Operation:
Operate haul trucks and water trucks efficiently, transporting materials to assigned locations such as load-out bins, valley heap leach, and other haulage requirements as directed by dispatch or mine supervisors.Conduct operations in a safe, productive, and environmentally responsible manner.Reporting:
Utilize basic math and science skills to complete daily reporting requirements accurately.Equipment Knowledge:
Learn and understand all operator's manuals, safety rules, and company procedures related to the operation haul trucks, water trucks, and other mining support equipment.Conduct thorough walk-around inspections of equipment and effectively communicate any mechanical issues to mine maintenance with detailed information.Your Training, Skills & Experience Checklist
Preferred 3 plus years of experience in safely and productively operating haul trucks, water trucks and/or heavy mining equipment however, prior experience is not mandatory.Entry-level positions are available, and candidates should possess a good work history, exhibit a strong safety demeanor, and be willing to learn.Working Conditions & Location
This position requires a 12-hour shift schedule that rotates between day and night shifts.
- Four consecutive nights on duty followed by three days off.- Three consecutive days on duty followed by one day off.-Three consecutive nights on duty followed by three days off.- Four consecutive days on duty followed by seven days off then restart rotation.
The role is based at the Cripple Creek & Victor mine site in Colorado.

The salary range offered for this role is USD $30.70- 44.58. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
