The Vice President of Casting, Unscripted Production is not just a role, but a key player in the success of our projects. This executive will lead all aspects of the casting process for Telemundo Entertainment Unscripted Productions, identifying and selecting talent that not only aligns with our creative vision but also significantly contributes to the success of our projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in casting for television and digital media and a profound understanding of industry trends and talent networks.

As the Vice President of Casting, Unscripted Production, you will have a wide range of responsibilities. These include managing scheduling, casting, recommending, selecting, and negotiating the cast and bit players. Your recommendations will be crucial to the Creative executive team, Directors, and General Producers in the productions for the Unscripted Division.

The Vice President also manages and coordinates the Casting team.

Leadership and Strategy:

Develop and implement casting strategies that align with the company’s creative and business goals.

Lead and manage the casting team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.

Collaborate with senior executives, directors, producers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and casting needs.

Talent Acquisition:

Identify, evaluate, and secure top talent for various projects across film, television, and digital platforms.

Build strong relationships with agents, managers, and other industry professionals.

Conduct auditions, interviews, and screen tests to assess potential talent.

Project Management:

Oversee the casting process from start to finish, ensuring timely and efficient execution.

Manage casting budgets and negotiate contracts with talent and their representatives.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including diversity initiatives.

Industry Insight and Networking:

Stay informed about industry trends, emerging talent, and competitive casting practices.

Attend industry events, film festivals, and showcases to scout new talent and expand professional networks.

Represent Telemundo in external meetings, conferences, and forums.

Innovation and Improvement:

Continuously seek innovative casting approaches that enhance our talent pool's quality and diversity.

Implement best practices and technologies to streamline the casting process and improve efficiency.

Casting Responsibilities:

Coordinate with the executive team to understand character needs.

Brainstorming of possible talent, considering the emotional characteristics, physical characteristics, and physical requirements of each character to be cast on all shows and pilots.

Coordinates with Top Talent casting schedules on Casting Networks or similar casting systems for performers' auditions.

Coordinates with the Talent team to follow up with performers and agents on their availability and interest in the project for casting purposes.

Supervise casting strategy with the casting team and schedule casting presentations.

Responsible for constantly identifying new talent, casting agencies, and acting schools.

Supervises team on creating Talent requests, presentations, and project needs (SharePoint, Scenechronize, PowerPoints, Cosmogonias, Cast lists, etc.)

Oversees with the production team and HR to solve unexpected problems with talent.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 10+ years of experience in the Entertainment or Television industry, including 5+ years of experience at the executive level.

Previous experience working with talent agents and managers in International and U.S. Hispanic talent markets.

Must be fully fluent in English and Spanish.

Able to energize and inspire others to commit to and act on business priorities.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English.

Minimum four-year college degree preferred.

Additional Requirements:

This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
