Job Responsibilities
With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.This position is located at the Aiken-Barnwell Mental Health Center, 1135 Gregg Highway, Aiken, SC 29803.Job Purpose:Under limited supervision, is responsible for providing psychiatric services to acute and chronically mentally ill patients of the Aiken-Barnwell Mental Health Center including the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of those patients and consultation to clinical staff of the Center.
Job Functions:
Provides assessment, diagnosis, and treatment services to the patients of ABMHC.Patient Care Hours Requirement-860 hours annually.Reviews and approves individual treatment plans for patients of ABMHC participating in treatment teams as needed.Assures that treatment services provided to patients in his/her program are effective and of high quality, including participation in QA reviews as requested.Documents services according to quality QA/SCDMH standards and completes documentation using collaborative documentation.Complies with Corporate Compliance Policy and Risk Management Plan.Provides consultation to staff and caregivers working with the patients of ABMH and participates in treatment team meetings.Participates in supervision meetings and completes required trainings.Performs other duties as needed.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
State Requirements:Must be licensed to practice medicine in South Carolina, have completed a residency program in psychiatry, and have two (2) years direct patient care experience.Preferred Qualifications
Agency Preferences:
Thorough knowledge of the techniques and skills used in the examination, diagnosis and treatment of the mentally ill and of recent developments in the field of adult psychiatric medicine.Must possess good interpersonal relationship skills in working with patients and other staff.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and staff.Supervision will be provided by the A-BMHC Chief of Psychiatric Services.Ability to lift 5 lbs.Position is essential and may be called back for emergencies, crises and disasters.Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.Additional Comments
