Lead Clinical Research Coordinator
Equivalent relevant work experience may be substituted for degree requirement. This position is located at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh in Lawrenceville. PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record Check will be required prior to the start of employment. Supervises clinical research staff and performs human resource actions. Prepares professional research documents, applications, manuscripts, and research papers; assists with complex research papers; and oversees Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications. Coordinates multiple, simultaneous research studies and audits research studies. Negotiates contracts, maintains budgets and expenditures, and orders supplies.Essential Functions
Supervises clinical research staff, including hiring, distributing, and reviewing work, performance reviews, and documenting disciplinary actions and other human resource administration. Manages work schedules and approves timecards. Provides professional development opportunities.Prepares grant applications, performs literature reviews, and prepares manuscripts.Writes research papers; assists principal investigator (PI) with complex research papers.Oversees and coordinates IRB applications.Monitors, audits, and reviews research studies. Compiles and records data; accesses feasibility, establishes protocol-specific recruitment plans, and coordinates multiples studies simultaneously.Monitors study budget/s and expenditures. Orders supplies; communicates effectively with vendors.Prepares, coordinates, and negotiates study contracts.Establishes effective community connections; identifies future community education opportunities.Facilitates project meetings and/or presentations of work as directed.
