We are seeking a proactive
Electrical Engineer
to join our PLM engineering team, where you will support our product lines with your technical problem-solving skills and electrical and hardware design experience. Your familiarity with firmware development and medical device standards will be essential as you engage in engineering activities that enhance our Laborie Portfolio.
About the Role:
As an Electrical Engineer, you will be involved in a diverse range of activities, including:
Assist in managing the lifecycle of existing products within the Laborie portfolio, ensuring alignment with market needs and compliance standards.Manage electrical design processes, ensuring timely and effective integration of electrical and PCB designs into production.Evaluate production changes and their impact on product design, ensuring seamless transitions and quality control.Aid in developing test strategies, execute design verification testing, and create documentation that meets Laborie's QMS and regulatory standards.Work closely with sales, marketing, production, and service teams to implement product changes that drive business objectives.Provide technical documentation and support to manufacturing and supply chain partners, regulatory affairs, marketing, and customer care teams for product-related issues and country registration processes.Collaborate with management and development teams to establish and promote engineering best practices.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field, with 2-4 years of relevant experience in hardware and/or firmware design.Proven experience in medical device engineering, with a strong understanding of standards/regulations such as GMP, FDA's QSR (CFR 820), IEC 60601, IEC 62304, EU MDD/EU MDR, and ISO 13485.Familiarity with engineering concepts including Design for Excellence, CTQ design and development, and the engineering change process.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to engineering challenges.Exceptional attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and excellent communication and collaboration skills.Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.Preferred Qualifications:
Strong preference for candidates with medical device experience.Experience designing circuit boards for low-power battery-operated mixed-signal and medical-grade (IEC 60601) applications.Proficiency in developing firmware for embedded systems using IDEs such as Keil or IAR.Familiarity with C or C++ programming languages.Experience collaborating in version-controlled codebase repositories (e.g., Git).Advanced skills with Altium, 3D CAD (SolidWorks), or other CAD tools.Lean / Six Sigma training or certifications are a plus.Experience with injection molding processes.Why Laborie:
