Proficiency in CNC milling machines and lathes. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment efficiency, and scrap rate reduction. Ability to lead new machining projects and improve existing methods. What Your Role Will Look Like: The Manufacturing Engineer will lead new machining projects and enhance existing methods to optimize overall operations. They will develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching and designing solutions, and modifying and testing equipment, while collaborating with equipment vendors. The role focuses on achieving production goals related to capacity, equipment efficiency, and scrap reduction. Additionally, the engineer will implement the 5S program within the engineering department to maintain a high standard of organization and efficiency. This position is primarily 1st shift but requires flexibility to work 2nd and 3rd shifts as needed. Program CNC milling machines and lathes (horizontal/vertical). Collaborate with quality engineers to resolve customer complaints. Set up processes to ensure production, delivery, and quality meet specifications. Develop machining processes, design fixtures, and tools with headquarters. Track, monitor, and ensure company goals on quality and productivity are met; take action as needed. Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data. Provide manufacturing engineering information and respond to requests. Ensure compliance with methods and quality standards. Set up production equipment and machining cells with technicians. Train technicians on new and existing systems/processes. Guide technicians through design and development projects. Set up daily inspections and adjust fixtures/tools. Prepare maintenance schedules per manufacturer recommendations. Maintain equipment and building to ensure effectiveness, reduce scrap, and manage overtime. Coordinate installation of production equipment to meet customer timing/quality.
