With increased knowledge and skill, this position will be the first point of contact to coordinate small to medium U Construction projects in the buildings. This position will also be the primary staff member maintaining our key database, our space assignment database, and connecting with central UMN space management entry in Tririga. This position will also help with general administrative support to faculty and the department head, including being one of the Chrome River team assisting CHEM personnel with reimbursements. The position will be the primary staff support to the Awards Committee, and assist the Department Head and Associate Administrator with faculty meetings and other department event support. The Building Manager will have informal oversight and coordination with up to three part-time student employees working in the front office. This position reports to the Associate Administrator, and works as necessary with the Director of Operations. The position is predominantly in-person and on-campus in support of daily operations. 25% Front office primary public-facing contact for all inquiries, requiring broad knowledge and fluency of most departmental operations across many areas, including informal supervision and training of 1-3 part-time student employees. 35% Primary Department Facilities Representative (DFR) for UMN Facilities Management (FM) matters and requests from CHEM personnel for building access, key and lock changes and management of building book and key database entry and maintenance. 20% General administrative support to the Department Head and Associate Administrator on faculty meetings and department events. Assistance to CHEM personnel on Chrome River reimbursements. 10% Department contact and coordinator for small to medium U Construction projects in Chemistry. 10% Primary administrative support to the faculty-led Chemistry Awards Committee. Qualifications Required Qualifications: BA or BS undergraduate degree or four years of a combination of related education and experience. Preferred Qualifications: BA or BS undergraduate degree. 1-3 years experience working in higher education, with preference of STEM-related research settings. Familiarity with UMN business processes. Fluency with software such as MS Office, FileMaker Pro, and Google suite tools.
