We are hiring a Director of Analytics and Survey Science in our New York Office
About the Role:
You will be responsible for leading analytics and survey research on Applecart's client services team for some of the country's most prominent corporations, trade associations, and political campaigns. In this position, you will work with and manage talented data analysts and work with campaign and digital advertising strategists and project managers to translate data science and analytics into actionable strategies and paid communications plans in terms non-technical clients understand. This role will report to Applecart's President.
What You'll Do:Serve as technical lead and project manager on complex analytics projectsMake key methodological decisions within client projects to inform the optimal development of survey instruments and use of custom microtargeting products (e.g. audiences, models)Provide effective support and mentorship to data analysts on topics ranging from the quality of their analytics insights to the efficiency of their SQL queries and Python codeCommunicate and present clearly, comfortably, and expertly about data and analytics concepts, verbally and in written formOversee survey writing, fielding, and modeling prand improve existing quality assurance processes to ensure end-products effectively address customer needsManage team resources dedicated to developing and improving analytics tools and offerings to deliver higher quality at greater efficiencyStay up to date with industry trends, emerging technology and new tools that can improve the accuracy and impact of our data productsExperiences and Capabilities You Bring:
5+ years experience in analytics, survey research or data science roles at a political data science or analytics firm, a data-driven political committee, political campaign or large outside organization, or polling firm.Experience advising high-stakes decisions using polling and predictive modeling to win electionsKnowledge of and comfort with numerous measurement and statistical concepts and research designs including conjoint, max-diff, difference in difference, and brand liftExperience creating and delivering reports in presentation, slide deck, and memo form to high-profile decision makers and strong data visualization skillsDemonstrated success managing direct reports and multiple simultaneous high-stakes projectsFamiliarity with digital advertising measurement a strong plusStrong written and verbal communication skillsImpeccable attention to detail and superior organizational skillsThis is a hybrid role. Work from anywhere on Monday and Friday and in Applecart's New York City office Tuesday through Thursday.
Compensation:
Our compensation package consists of three components: (i) a base salary, (ii) annual cash bonus, and (iii) generous equity compensation.
The base salary range for this role is between $135,000-175,000, based on the candidate's experience and skills relative to the requirements listed above. The salary range provided is exclusive of discretionary annual cash bonus and equity compensation. The salary range provided for this role is specific to candidates located in the New York City area.
