Broadcast Engineer
for our client, a global financial services company that offers a variety of financial products and services: life insurance, annuities, retirement-related services, mutual funds, and investment management.
This position is
onsite
in
Newark, NJ . Candidates must be able and willing to work a flexible schedule and overtime as needed.
This is a 12-month Contract role with a possible extension.
About:
The Broadcast Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and operating the equipment that ensures the quality and integrity of our broadcast and transmission services from two large auditoriums. This role involves working with both analog and digital broadcast systems, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair broadcast and transmission equipment.Monitor broadcast signals to ensure high-quality audio and video output.Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with broadcast systems promptly.Setup and operate various broadcast and AV equipment for live broadcasts and recordingsEnsure compliance with industry standards and procedures.Perform routine checks and maintenance to prevent broadcast disruptions.Collaborate with production team to support their technical needs.Keep up to date with the latest technology trends in broadcasting and AV systems.Provide in-person, hybrid, virtual video technical support for broad, high level, and complex webcasts. All other duties assignedQualifications:
Minimum of 10+ years of experience in broadcast engineering or a related role.Extensive experience with broadcast equipment including broadcast cameras, routing systems, lighting equipment, video switchers, audio mixing consoles, video projection, AV control systems, PC and Mac computers.Strong knowledge of current broadcast and AV industry practices, standards, and procedures. •Knowledge of DSPs, signal flow and routing, IP and PC-based video technology and networks, and hybrid facility operations.Ability to read and decipher wiring diagrams, CAD drawings and schematics.The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of some of the following hardware/software: Evertz router panel CP-1040E, Evertz Magnum software, RTS intercom panel KP-5032, RTS intercom Azedit software, Barco EC-50, Barco E2, Ross Xpression, ETC ION lighting console, Panasonic PTZ cameras, Sony HDC2500-3500 cameras, Sony MX-8000X video switcher, Yamaha CL5, Soundcraft Vi5000, AJA Ki Pro Ultra, Shure ULX microphone system, Dante audio and various Blackmagic components.Video file management: uploading, downloading, file compression and conversion.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure and remain calm during stressful situations. Ability to work collaboratively with the production team.Excellent customer service skills and professional presence with the ability to interface with various department leaders and executives.Extreme attention to details with the ability to recommend and implement alternative set-ups and/or operations.Ability to keep accurate and up to date documentation of technical challenges. Provide guidance and alternatives to management and other team members.Preferred Skills:
Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, OneDrive, Excel, Teams, OBS, KVM, Zoom Webinar, Zoom Meetings etc.Certification from the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE), AVIXA (CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D) or similar organizations.Ability to lift or move 40+ lbs.Ability to walk between multiple buildings.Ability to bend, kneel and work in small control rooms and equipment racks.
Pay Range:
$43-$52 Hourly
