JOB SUMMARY
Manage Human Resources for the organization including: policies & procedures, recruiting, performance management, benefits administration, staff appreciation, staff development, payroll, government agency compliance, DOT/FMCSA Commercial Motor Vehicle driver compliance, OSHA and Insurer safety compliance.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Management of Human Resources: Implementation of HR and Employee policies including: Human Resources and Corporate Standard Operating Procedures, Employee Handbook, Emergency Guidelines, Safety & Health program, Drug Free Workplace policy, and additional regulated policies Develop, manage and implement Recruiting/Hiring/Release processes including: ad placement, resume screening, interviewing, reference checking, employment offers, onboarding and separation Manage relationships and communications with Staffing Agencies Provide guidance to management for selecting, hiring, coaching and retaining competent and committed employees Maintain Employee Paper and Electronic Recordkeeping Systems; Provide management with direction for Supervisor Recordkeeping Systems Maintain Employee Service and Appreciation programs Develop and coordinate corporate events Administration of Benefits program including: Orientation and Enrollment, Information changes and follow up, Eligibility Notification Provide support and counsel on employee disciplinary matters. Involvement in all decisions for employee terminations. Conduct exit process. Provide ongoing feedback and recommendations for enhanced awareness and understanding by employees regarding Vision, Mission and Values Develop and supervise Organizational Projects including: Job Description development/review, compensation recommendations, career development plans, etc. Develop, organize and implement formal and informal internal training based on identified needs of the individual, division, and company Provide support and guidance for the company-wide efforts of unified systems thinking and process improvement Manage and support internal communication Track, manage and communicate H/R business metrics Handle Workers' Compensation claims; Department of Labor Unemployment Claims; OSHA, ADA, EEOC and/or legal requests and inquiries in collaboration with President and Director of HR Manage corporate Safety Program Manage DOT/FMCSA Driver Compliance Regulations Provide management with guidance and knowledge of governing agency rules and compliance, as well as, business guidelines, policies and procedures Promote, support and participate in Strategic Company Initiatives and Meetings Management of Administrative Staff:
Recruit, hire and supervise team members - ensuring quality performance Oversee position specific training to new and established team members which includes a thorough knowledge of values and position criteria Provide opportunities for continuing education and staff development Ensure communication of company and departmental goals and expectations Develop and implement competitive incentive programs to stimulate a level of urgency and excitement for action within the team Conduct regular team meetings Evaluate performance of team. Conduct regular reviews, providing job performance evaluation and feedback, job description review and update, and assist in developing performance planning documents. Take disciplinary action and make termination decisions when needed. QUALIFICATIONS
B.A. degree in Human Resources or related field required Minimum of 15 years experience overseeing all aspects of a corporate Human Resources environment with 51-100+ employees SHRM Certification preferred Extensive knowledge of governing agencies and guidelines including: Department of Labor, OSHA, IRS, ADA, EEOC, FMLA, ACA, FLSA, DOT, FMCSA, etc. Knowledge of Insurance Benefits Administration Exhibit exemplary verbal, written and presentation skills Exhibit excellent communication, comprehension and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence others Exhibit strong supervisory, organization and interpersonal skills Ability to gather, analyze, assimilate and document statistical information and trends Ability to track metrics and meet corporate goals Ability to research and evaluate information to make strategic recommendations Ability to manage multiple priorities and adhere to deadlines Confidentiality Accuracy & Attention to detail Demonstrate excellent coaching/counseling competence Comfortable in working effectively with people at all levels of the organization Above average knowledge of MS Office suite, Outlook and HRIS Flexibility in hours available for work
