Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central New Mexico is seeking a
Development Associate

$40,000- $45,000 a year DOE
Job Summary:
The Development Associate is responsible for meeting annual revenue goals, primarily but not limited to fundraising events, third party fundraisers, and individual giving. Collaborate with other members of fund development team to strategize, plan, guide, and execute the annual fundraising program. Acquire, cultivate, and manage donor stewardship. Work with team to meet agency mentor recruitment goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1.
Fundraising Events
Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, close and steward corporate sponsors, teams, schools, and attendees depending on event type. Collaborate with team on facilities, themes, IT, timeline, TOG, and more to ensure quality event.
2.
General Fundraising
Collaborate with team to meet fundraising goals. Vet opportunities for high ROI third party events. Assist in grant writing as indicated by CEO. Secure one-time, monthly, annual, planned, and other gift types.
3.
Recruitment
Collaborate with fund development and recruitment teams to meet agency recruiting goals, including number of mentors recruited and applications submitted. Make presentations and attend tablings. Collaborate with marketing consultants to ensure timely content and materials.
4.
Collaboration and Teamwork Outside Department.
Serve on committees dedicated to merging the talent and values of team members to ensure optimum customer satisfaction and mission outcomes. Engage with BBBS sister agency peers and community partners related to youth service. Collaborate for innovation and solutions-based strategies.
5.
Other Duties as Assigned.
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities
•BA required
•Minimum three years' experience fund development and donor relations experience.
•Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
•Advanced competency using MS Office and fund development software systems.
•Demonstrated ability to make group and one-to-one presentations that move people to action.
•Demonstrated competency in strategy, execution of plans, goal, and attainment.
•Demonstrated sales experience/ability.
•Demonstrated knowledge of donor management, including identification, acquisition, stewardship, and long-term gifts.
•Demonstrated experience working with a board of directors, stakeholders, leadership, and team members.
•Demonstrated relationship building/cultivating skills.
Preferred Skills/Abilities
•Nonprofit fundraising experience
•Fluency in Spanish
Physical/Base Requirements
Ability to sit at a desk and computer for long periods of time.
Ability to travel and work outside regular business hours, including minimum of one evening/week and one weekend/month.
Use personal vehicle to travel across multi-county service area, with primary work in/around metro ABQ.
Must have car, valid driver's license, and meet state required automobile insurance minimums as well as pass a criminal background check.
