Description: Evaluates and improves upon existing manufacturing processes. Assists supervisors and production employees in resolving manufacturing process problems. Produce and maintain support documentation to control processes and costs while maintaining quality. Includes: Manufacturing processes, time studies, CNC programming, tooling, tool design, machinery or related equipment as needed. Plans and implements process engineering activities for new product development and current product support. Facilitates smooth transition of projects from Engineering to Manufacturing including analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, equipment layout, work instructions and preventative maintenance procedures. Justify new or replacement tooling, machines and equipment. Prepare capital authorization requests and manage installation and start-up. Act as training person for specialized processes and machine operators. Assist and support in environmental, health and safety programs and requirements. Assist and support plant and facility maintenance. Provide Make vs. Buy analysis and standard cost estimates. Create and maintain routings. Create and maintain shop floor work instructions. Create rework orders for the shop floor. Proficient at utilizing the latest SolidWorks 3D solid modeling software for fixture and tooling design. Proficient at utilizing the latest Mastercam CAM software for CNC program creation and verification. Proficient at reading and interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
